This is my first time posting on Blogger, so I'm just playing around and seeing what I can do!  I had a blast taking pictures with my webcam and doing the effects on the photos when it connected me back to my Google profile.

Lately, it's been all about the novel.  Sorcerer's Vendetta.  Got my sample cover art and it was fantastic!  Patricia Schmitt knows her stuff, that's for sure.

It's funny how differently people respond to me when I show them the cover that will be going on my novel, instead of just talking about being a novelist.  Of course, the first thing they ask if I just tell them I'm a writer is "Have you been published anywhere?" Since I have my credits with a very respected magazine, I can pass that test now, but as far as novels, that takes a different tack in the current publishing climate.

Once they see Trish's cover art though, it's "Wow, can I have your autograph?" and "When's the book signing?"

Amazing.  Just amazing.  You can't read a book by its cover, but you sure can sell it.

I'd post it here, but I just had a rude awakening -- there are people out there who steal artwork.  I wanted to help promote her work on Facebook, but I also found out from her that Facebook claims ownership of any photos posted there. Really.

So that's what's on my mind at the moment.  I'll be having much more interesting topics in the future, I promise.  Like I said, just playing around right now!
